WHAT TO WEAR TO YOUR PHOTOGRAPHY SESSION

Styling your session

Planning what you wear for your session is an essential piece of the puzzle for setting the mood and feel of your photos. But don’t stress! I’ve got you covered with lots of tips and tricks as well as outfit suggestions that are flattering for everyone listed below!

SAY YES TO:

Comfortable clothes

Subtle texture (such as; lace, knits, & tulle).

Neutral color schemes

Simple is better!

SAY NO TO:

Formal clothes like Tuxedos

Dark, neon, or saturated colors

Text & graphics on T-shirts

Shaded lenses & sunglasses

The Big takeaway:

It’s all about soft colors!

For my light and airy styled sessions, I recommend light solid colors or small lightly printed patterns with neutrals and/or light colors (think washed-out pastels) like white, beige, ivory, gray, light blue, light pink, and light green are always a win. They are also flattering for all skin tones and match all interiors (for hanging up on your walls at home).

Coordinating colors:

I recommend having at least 3 core colors in your color palette. After you’ve selected your outfit, take a look at the accent colors in it, and use those to tie in the outfits for everyone else. Keep it interesting by keeping each person’s primary color different.
