How far in advance should I book my family portrait session?
I recommend you schedule your family portrait session as far in advance as you can! This is especially true for Fall sessions, because this is typically the busiest time of the year. If you don’t know what season, location, etc. you would like for your family session – that is ok! That’s where I come in! During my consultation process I will walk you through curating the perfect colors, theme, location, wardrobe, and overall esthetics for your session to create stunning artwork of your family for your home!

Do I need to buy outfits for our family session?
I offer a beautifully curated selection of seasonal outfits specially made and crafted for Mom’s and babies. During the consultation process you will be able to hand-pick each item so we are sure to have something that you will love for your Arcata Family session!
Do you have a Payment Plan?
Yes, I do offer payment plans for all of my portrait sessions upon request.
Are individual children's portraits included in a Family session?
Yes! Portraits of each of your little ones individually, together, and with mom and dad are included in all of my Arcata Family Photography Sessions (if they allow me to do so)! Family sessions are limited to immediate family members only, but extended family members (grandparents, cousins, etc.) can be added on for an additional fee.

What if my littles don't cooperate?
Family sessions are HARD on Mama’s! Don’t I know it! We try our best to get everyone fed, dressed, well rested, and happy before family photos and trust me, I know that is a JOB! As a Mama myself, a photographer, and a former daycare teacher, I have several tricks up my sleeves that allows me to capture those precious moments you are wanting to treasure! A full length family portrait session is also plenty of time to work through any “moments” your little may have. The biggest tip of advise I can offer is this: don’t stress it – our little ones pick up on our energy and will react accordingly. Try to relax during your session, smile, and allow me to capture these precious memories.
During my Consultation process I will walk you through all my best tips to help prepare your little ones and discuss what we can do to customize your session based on your family’s specific needs. You will also receive my handy Client Welcome Guide. Which has so many helpful tips to prepare your family before your session.
How long is a family session?
Because sometimes little ones aren’t always on our schedule even if we’d like them to be, my family sessions are scheduled for 1-2 hours.
Just in case we have a not so easy to warm up toddler, or if littles need a play break or a snack. However, not all family sessions require the full 2 hours; sometimes they’re shorter (anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours)!
