Baby Matilda’s outdoor newborn session was everything you’d imagine from a Northern California evening: soft light, a peaceful setting, and a whole lot of love. She was wrapped in the sweetest snuggles from mom and dad — and of course, their gorgeous golden retriever, Hazel, who proudly stepped into her new role as big sister.
Including family pets in newborn sessions is something I always encourage. After all, they’re often the first “baby” and such an important part of the family story. Hazel was gentle and curious, keeping close to Matilda and adding such warmth and personality to their portraits.
Families chose to document baby’s first year with my Collective Membership, which means they’ll have four beautifully styled sessions over 18 months — from newborn to first birthday — plus heirloom artwork and thoughtful touches like wardrobe styling, access to the Client Wardrobe, and professional makeup for mama.

From idea to final product, the whole process was smooth and easy. Rachel had excellent recommendations on how to prepare and what to wear for the best pictures. She was upbeat, encouraging, and patient with my girls throughout the photo shoot. Her studio has beautiful lighting and is spotless. She was flexible with adding in ideas we had last minute.
